Surfaces
Generating constellation…
Every artist I've played more than ten times since 2011, positioned by what I've listened to alongside what.
On a wider screen this becomes something you can touch — every dot a story.
Each dot is an artist. They sit close to the ones I play them with — the company they keep.
Some are companions. Some were a season.
Surfaces reads fifteen years of my Spotify history — around 260,000 plays — and learns my taste from it. Every night it rebuilds a profile of what I'm leaning into now and what's been quietly drifting back. A second program reads music blogs and indie radio for new tracks that might fit, and a third surfaces long-lost favorites — songs I played 200 times in 2017 and haven't heard since.
When I want to listen, Surfaces draws from all three pools — the familiar, the forgotten, and the new — and tunes the mix to the time of day and the kind of attention I have to spare. It talks to Spotify, talks to Claude, and answers through Siri when I ask.
Built solo in three days using Claude Code.
Send me a song
If a track has been living in your head and you think it'd live in mine too, send it over. It joins the same pool of fresh candidates Surfaces pulls from when it builds a session.
The submission tool is coming with the next update. For now, email me the track at chris@chrisbuice.com and I'll add it by hand.
